THE BET

As most of you know, I am a Detroit Red Wings hockey fan. Well the boys made it to the Stanley Cup Final this year! And by some divine intervention, so did the Pittsburgh Penguins. (I know, even a blind squirrel, ya know?)

Well, the Wings are up 2 games to 1. And I FINALLY thought up a bet Karl and I could make. So we made our bet this morning. These are the terms:

The supporter of the losing team will buy championship t-shirts for BOTH of us. The supporter of the losing team will PROUDLY wear the championship t-shirt and have their picture taken and posted on this blog (photo must be approved by supporter of the winning team). The supporter of the losing team will also wear the championship t-shirt out and about, it is not to be stuffed in a drawer or worn only in the house. The supporter of the losing team will also wear the championship t-shirt to my sister's house when we go to Michigan this summer.

Joy Rider

Whenever I take Kaleb outside, he goes to either my car or Karl's and tries to open the door - he wants to go for a ride. Well a couple of nights over the last week, after our walk, we have gotten in Karl's car and taken him for a ride up to the BIG park nearby. One night after we went to the park, we took him down to the river to see the dam. We thought he would really like to see the splashing water. But he was not impressed with it. He was having too much fun running down the bike path. Go figure.

Well last night I took Kaleb outside after I got home from work, knowing that he would want to go for a ride. So before we went out, I grabbed my keys, my license, and my debit card so that when the time came, we could take MY car and run up to get gas while it was still $3.85. So we went for our walk, then we went and put gas in the car. We got home and we were in the front yard. Kaleb was running around. Then he went over to my car and pulled on the door handle, he wanted to go for a ride again. But I told him, "No, we've already gone for a ride in Mama's car." So.... he went over to Daddy's car and pulled on the door handle. I gotta hand it to him, he's pretty sharp.

SPLASH!

We've started Kaleb in a "swim" group through the Help Me Grow program. We've only had one "class" so far. We spent the first class trying to get Kaleb used to being in the pool. Once we got him over to the steps, he was fine. Stood there and played with a cup. He didn't even fuss when he slipped off the step and went under the water for a second. And when it was time to leave, he didn't want to get out! I'm hoping we can get him to do more to use his muscles next time.

HAPPY 2ND BIRTHDAY KALEB!!!

We had a beautiful day for Kaleb's birthday party! The kids had a blast! Thank you to everyone!

L-R: Malaki, Bryce, Kaleb, and Josh coloring up some fun!

Whoooo's that behind that mask? It's Josh!
The birthday boy and Moonface the Barn Owl (I mean, Josh).
Bryce to the rescue!

L-R: Mark, Morgan (Almost visible), Joan (seated), Patrick, Karl, and Nancy.

I just love this picture. It looks to me like Malaki and Kaleb are superheroes coming to the rescue. With Josh in the background wondering what kind of crime they're going to fight with a hoe and a Swiffer, and why didn't they ask him to help out with the Elmo broom? LOL

Bananas - Josh's Birthday Party

Josh's birthday party was at a place called Bananas. They have a bunch of inflatables for the kids to play on. Kaleb had more fun just running around.
We had to coax him to go on some of the stuff.

I didn't have to coax Daddy though.

There's Josh, the birthday boy, and his mom Joan.

Shades.....

Kaleb has finally gotten so that he'll WEAR his sunglasses for longer than 2 seconds. He's figured out that when you open the door and the sun is really bright, they help. I had bought him some el-cheapos last year, because he didn't keep them on.
SO.... since he's wearing them better now, we got him a regular pair. Doesn't he look like a Nascar driver? LOL

Grandma Munroe's 80th Birthday Party

We stayed at Uncle Joe & Aunt Nancy's the night before the party, so Grandma wouldn't be suspicious. Kaleb had a great time there! He got to play the drum!

Hey! Who is THIS handsome guy? I almost didn't recognize Pap without his "uniform".
Kaleb had a good time with all the other kids at the party.
There's the birthday girl. I think she had a good time. It was a really nice party.

Maybe if we both push, we can get it open . . . .

Misc.

Grandma got Kaleb this awesome Michigan State sweatshirt.
Kaleb LOVES to help. Here he is trying out his new rake. (I had to get him one of his own because he wouldn't let me use the big rake... HE wanted it)
Washing the fire truck. Gotta keep it looking good!

Visitors!

OK, I am SO far behind on my blogging.

In early April Grandma, Aunt Dana, and Maleena came for a visit!

Maleena is getting to be a VERY good reader!
