MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

Well, Santa was VERY good to us this year! Especially Kaleb, cause he's such a good boy! Kaleb was much more involved with Christmas this year. He even helped to open his presents!

Kaleb got a lot of cool stuff! He got a big crawl-through toy, and an easel, and lots of cool books! He got a piggy bank toy, and some puzzles. Some neat bath toys, like bathtub basketball, and soap crayons (we're gonna try those out tonight). He got a little kitchen set. And a plush rocking horse that talks and sings! (from Grandma Jude) And too much other stuff to list it all!

<---- This actually isn't the whole thing! There's one more larger piece that Santa couldn't fit in our living room!

WHAT A GLORIOUS MESS!!!

After we were done opening presents, we visited the nativity scene at a nearby funeral home (I know, Christmas Day, and for fun we went to the funeral home!) They have wax figures for the people, but 2 REAL donkeys and 4 REAL sheep! So we took some goodies up to the animals.

The wax figures are hand carved by the Father & Son who own the funeral home.

Gotta run for now so I can get Christmas dinner going! I'll post more pics in a while! I hope everyone had a wonderful day with friends and family!

It's Potty Time

We bought Kaleb a potty chair a week or so ago, because he has been showing an interest in Daddy going potty. We figured it would be good to just have it in the bathroom so that he can get used to it and (hopefully) show an interest. So the other day, I was letting Kaleb run around commando for a few minutes and I went in to go to the bathroom. While I was sitting on the toilet he came in, stood next to the bathtub and proceeded to pee on the floor. So I grabbed him and stood him in front of HIS potty chair.... and he peed in his potty!

We're not trying to rush him or anything, but hey... if you happen to be in the right place at the right time....

New Link

It has been brought to my attention that I did not have a Panda link in my Favorite Links list. So Live from the San Diego Zoo..... It's Panda Cam!

BOO!

Well Kaleb had a pretty good Halloween I think. He didn't go out trick-or-treating, seeing as how he won't eat candy (and I'm in no hurry for him to start). But we did get him a costume so he could get dressed up and go see the good folks at CVS where Mama was working on Halloween. Dressed as a lion, he was entertaining a couple of people who were waiting for prescriptions (and the employees too).

We were told the night before that we were to dress up for Halloween at work. And since I had to work until 9. I didn't have time to go out and get a costume, so I went as a Steelers Fan. I'll have to come up with something a LOT better next year to top Steve, one of our Pharmacists. He does historical war re-enactments and wore one of his uniforms.

The World Is My Coloring Book

Yup, we have a budding artist on our hands. He LOVES his crayons. He colors on paper sometimes. But he also colors on the doors, the television screen, the bathtub, the dishwasher... whatever is in his path. LOL Thank goodness for washable crayons!

On Walkabout

I think it's safe to say Kaleb is WALKING!

So he walks like he's had a few too many (cups of apple juice, of course).... But he's WALKING!!!

Made a trip to Michigan to see the gang up there. Had a nice time. There was a bad storm one night and the power went out, so we played Bingo by oil lamp. Got to see a lot of the old Kmart gang while we were there too.

Kaleb enjoyed all the fun toys at Grandma's house.......

We got to visit with Aunt Sharon, Nikki, Abby, and Emma (Kaleb really likes Emma).......

Maleena and I made some homemade Kool-Aid play dough. Maleena was having a good time using it to re-create a scene from Spongebob Squarepants................

Grandma's Little Angels.....................

Had to stop over and see Uncle Bob while we were there (He's Kaleb's Great Great Uncle)..........

PEEK-A-BOO............... I SEE YOU

Kaleb's first trip to the beach (Lake Michigan)...................

Kaleb enjoyed walking in the sand, but he wanted NOTHIN to do with the water!

Just hours before we were going to leave, Kaleb discovered that it was FUN to play in the dog's water dish ............... so naturally I got the pouty face when I told him "No".

First Haircut

Yes, we took Kaleb for his first haircut today. I got tired of the long hair on top of his head hanging in his eyes. It wasn't anything drastic, just got it trimmed and evened up a bit.

This is Nicole.... she's my hairdresser, and she cut Kaleb's hair today.

The finished product..... (I think it makes him look less like a baby).

After the haircut (actually we ALL got our hair cut today), we went to McDonald's for lunch. It was also Kaleb's first visit to McDonald's. We got him a happy meal with 4 chicken nuggets, french fries, and milk. He drank some of the milk and wouldn't even try anything else. Oh well, he got a toy out of the deal. LOL

Then we hit a few yard sales. Didn't find too much. Then we came home to cool off. Kaleb took a nap so he would be all rested up and able to give a concert this afternoon.....

A little time at the IntelliTable this evening......

Smorgasbord

OK, so I've been feeling kinda bad for Kaleb because he gets pretty much the same thing (some fresh banana, oatmeal, and juice, and sometimes toast) for breakfast every day. This is NOT due to a lack of trying new things. I've tried giving him Quaker instant oatmeal instead of the Gerber baby oatmeal. I've even tried the fruit & cream varieties. He doesn't like them. So I tried Cream of Wheat, again trying the fruity stuff as well as the plain. Nothing doing.

So TODAY I made him a scrambled egg, which he promtly spit out - and when I put some of it on his tray for HIM to try on his own, he picked it up and threw it on the floor. THEN I made him a piece of french toast. I put syrup on half and left half with just a little butter on it. He ate a couple bites, then he was all done. SO, I gave him some fresh banana while I made him some of his usual oatmeal. He ate the banana. But he didn't eat much of his oatmeal. THEN I got out one of his fruit & cereal bars, which he ate about 3 bites of. The ONLY thing he finished at breakfast today was his apple juice.

I'm running out of ideas. I've tried pancakes and waffles. He'll eat a couple bites but that's it.

Any suggestions??

Making a Splash

Put Kaleb in his kiddie pool for the first time today. We almost didn't get to go out because we had a short thundershower this afternoon. But once it cleared up, we headed for the pool....

Check out the cool swim trunks Kaleb got for his birthday from Aunt Nancy, Uncle Joe, and the kids!

What good is being in the pool if you can't make a splash?

A really GOOD splash requires some concentration......

He asked for some sunglasses and a couple of cute girls, but I told him he has to wait about 20 years....
